Every Spring I get in the mood to paint flowers. These Black Eyed Susans grow on my brother and sister in laws farm in West Virginia, South of Morgantown.
This
painting was another class demonstration. The challenge of this painting
for me was to capture the delicate nature of these blossoms. It would
be very easy to be too heavy handed and lose the peace and quiet that
these wonders inspire me to. I think in the end that
it worked.
These tulips were the subject of a class demon-stration at the Christy House. It is one of those quick sketches where everything worked well for me.
This is a perfect piece for blessing that small wall area with some color and imagination.
